DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0200Z December 12, 2017

SMOKE:
Southern California/Pacific Northwest/Western Canada:
Wildfires located in Ventura County and in southeastern Santa Barbara
County continue to produce moderately dense to very thick smoke which
was seen to spread westward off the California coast and out over the
Pacific Ocean this evening. Heavy smoke hugs the California coast while
traveling towards the north past San Francisco. Moderate smoke stretched
farther north over Eureka and into southwestern Oregon. The larger area
of light density smoke blanketed the western portions of Oregon and
Washington state while extending along British Columbia's coastline
covering Vancouver and Graham Island.

South Dakota and Nebraska...
The Legion Lake Wildfire located in southwestern South Dakota produced
light to heavily density smoke. The smoke was carried towards the
southeast with moderate smoke stretching into a portion of northeastern
Nebraska.

Southern Florida...
A large number of agricultural fires located south of Lake Okeechobee
produced short puffs of light density smoke that were seen to blend
together while traveling towards the south.
