Warnings

9:21 PM EST Monday 11 December 2017
Storm surge warning in effect for:

  • Grande-Vallée area
  • Sainte-Anne-des-Monts area
  • Storm surge warning

Coastal flood warning due to waves issued jointly by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (Science) and the Meteorological Service of Canada - Quebec region on 2017-12-11 at 9:00 am EST.

An intense low pressure system approaching from the Great Lakes will give strong winds to the above-mentioned regions. These winds and the fact that we are currently in a run of high tides could produce waves resulting in coastal flooding in the following localities at the dates and times specified (eastern standard time).

    Sainte-Anne-des-Monts - Grande-Vallée: 2017-12-12, 8:00 pm to 11:59 pm.

    Forillon Park - Gaspé - Percé: 2017-12-12, 8:00 pm to 11:59 pm.

    New-Carlisle - Chandler: 2017-12-12, 8:00 pm to 11:59 pm.

    Sept-Îles - Port-Cartier: 2017-12-12, 8:00 pm to 11:59 pm.

Coastal erosion is possible in vulnerable areas. People close to the shoreline should stay on the lookout for worsening conditions.

Storm surge warnings are issued when water levels pose a threat to coastal regions.
