Wind northwest 45 knots except northwest 55 over southern sections today. Wind diminishing to northwest 25 to 35 near midnight then becoming west 25 Saturday morning. Wind backing to southwest 15 to 20 Saturday afternoon.

Snow changing to flurries or showers overnight. Visibility 1 mile or less in snow.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Over open water freezing spray over western sections today tonight and Saturday morning.

Temperatures minus 6 to zero rising to plus 2 Saturday evening.

By 4:00 a.m. NDT Saturday low 1000 mb located over the East
Labrador Sea.

At 4:00 p.m. NDT today approaching ridge located over Labrador.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:46 AM NDT 26 April 2024 A low pressure system over the South Labrador Sea will move to lie
over the East Labrador Sea tonight. Strong to gale force
southeasterlies can be expected to the east of the low and gale to
storm force northwesterlies to its west.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Northwest Labrador Sea. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters except Lake Melville.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Mid Labrador Coast, South Labrador Sea - northwestern half
and Northwest Labrador Sea.
