* WHERE...Gulf beaches of Alabama and the western Florida
  panhandle.

* IMPACTS...Frequent life-threatening rip currents are expected.
  The surf is dangerous for all levels of swimmers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

There is a high risk of rip currents. Rip currents are life-
threatening to anyone entering the surf. Swim near a lifeguard.
If caught in a rip current remain calm. Don`t fight the current.
Swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape,
face the shore and call or wave for help. If tired, float or
tread water until out of the rip current.

* Location...Brunswick County beaches.

* Rip Current Risk...High.

* Surf Height...Around 6 feet east of Ocean Isle Beach, and around
  4 feet west of Ocean Isle Beach.

* Timing and Tides...Strong rip currents could occur at any time,
  but will be especially prominent several hours either side of low
  tide, which will be around 9 am.

* Other Hazards...Strong east to west longshore current. Strong and
  rough surf. Significant beach erosion possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Beach Hazards Statement is issued when threats such as rip
currents, longshore currents, and other hazards create life-
threatening conditions in the surf zone. Caution should be used when
in or near the water.

There is a high risk of rip currents. Life threatening rip currents
are likely in the surf zone.

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as groins, jetties
and piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags and
signs.

  but will be especially prominent several hours either side of low
  tide, which will be around 9 am.

  possible.

Current Risk, which is in effect through late tonight.

* SURF HEIGHT...2 to 3 feet.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as groins, jetties
and piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags and
signs.

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a High Surf
Advisory, which is in effect from 11 AM this morning to 5 AM EDT
Tuesday.

* LOCATIONS...All beaches of Charleston County, including the
  Cape Romain, Isle of Palms, Sullivans Island, Folly Beach, and
  Kiawah Island.

* RIP CURRENTS...Wind and wave conditions support the
  development of very strong rip currents. These rip currents
  will be life threatening to anyone who enters the surf.

* BREAKING WAVE HEIGHTS...4 to 5 feet.

* TIMING...Late this morning through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Large breaking waves will be dangerous to anyone who
  enters the surf. There will also be dangerous rip currents and
  possible beach erosion.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

No one should enter the surf due to life threatening rip
currents.

Everyone should remain out of the water. Mariners should use
extreme caution, especially near inlets, cuts and bays. Swells
approaching these areas can lead to large, dangerous breaking
waves. Keep a clear distance away from the ocean. Structures such
as piers and jetties will be particularly treacherous.
