PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in urban areas, streets

* At 220 PM EDT, the public reported heavy rain causing small stream
  flooding 7 miles west of the city of Pickens. Additional rainfall
  this afternoon may lead to further rises, or rises on creeks that
  have not yet responded significantly to rainfall.

  Pickens, Table Rock State Park, Sunset, Pumpkintown, Sassafras

  fallen since 6am.  An additional 1-2 inches of rain is expected

  thunderstorms pushes from west to east across the area.  This may

  ongoing in the usual locations across Biltmore Village, including

  heavy rain has fallen over the advisory area over the past 6-8
  hours. This may cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
  Widespread 2-3 inches of rain has fallen since 7am.  An additional
  1-2 inches of rain is expected over the 3-6 hours as a line
  of showers and thunderstorms pushes from west to east across the
  area.  This may cause additional flooding and may exacerbate
  ongoing flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Highlands, Cashiers, Bad Creek, Pine Mountain, Whiteside Mountain,
  Sapphire and Scaly Mountain.

* The following streams and their associated tributaries may be
  experiencing rapid rises: Chattooga River, Cullasaja River,
  Clear Creek, Logan Creek, Norton Mill Creek, East Fork Overflow
