Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County

Freezing rain threat continues to appear less significant for Monday.

A Colorado low is forecast to cross the lower Great Lakes for the start of the work week. Some inconsequential drizzle may be present during the Monday morning commute. A few areas north from the Oak Ridges Moraine into the Dundalk Highlands may also have patchy freezing drizzle. However, a more substantial area of precipitation will move in later Monday morning.

Updated weather guidance continues to suggest that this precipitation will fall in the form of rain. The greatest freezing rain threat will remain over Central and Eastern Ontario where temperatures will be colder. However, northern portions of York and Durham region, as well as the Dundalk Highlands may see a couple of hours of light freezing rain in the late morning or early afternoon with temperatures close to the freezing mark.

For the remainder of the Greater Toronto Area, precipitation is likely to be in the from of rain as temperatures are expected to be just above the freezing mark. However, this will be monitored closely.
