Alerts for: Mount Carleton - Renous Highway

10:22 PM ADT Wednesday 21 March 2018
Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Mount Carleton - Renous Highway

Snow expected over much of New Brunswick Thursday and Thursday night. Highest amounts most likely over southeastern sections...

A low pressure system currently giving snow to parts of the eastern United States will track toward the Maritimes tonight and Thursday before moving east of the province Friday morning. Snow will develop over southern New Brunswick late overnight tonight or Thursday morning then spread northward reaching northern sections of the province Thursday afternoon. Southeastern portions of the province will likely see the highest snowfall amounts, with total amounts possibly reaching or exceeding 15 centimetres before the snow tapers to flurries Friday morning. The snow will likely impact travel over the southeastern half of the province Thursday afternoon and evening, and will be accompanied by strong northeasterly winds which may bring visibilities down in blowing snow.

The public are advised to monitor future forecasts as this system and its impacts become better defined and warnings may be required.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to or tweet reports using #NBStorm.
