    10:45 AM AST Tuesday 23 January 2018
Freezing rain warning in effect for:

    • Sussex - Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County
    • Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

Snow and ice pellets associated with this system will change to freezing rain this afternoon and continue over the northern half of the province well into the evening. Most of New Brunswick will see between 4 and 8 hours of ice pellets and freezing rain before changing to rain from south to north.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.weatheraspc.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #NBStorm.
