Issued 3:30 PM NST 19 February 2018 Tonight and Tuesday At 3:30 p.m. NST today low 985 mb located east of the Grand Banks.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Tuesday departing low 992 mb located east of
the Marine District.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over Newfoundland.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Tuesday departing ridge located off the Grand
Banks.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today trough located over southern Quebec.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Tuesday trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over Funk Island Bank.


Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:31 PM NST 19 February 2018 An intense low pressure system east of the Grand Banks will continue
to track eastward tonight. Strong to gale to force northerlies will
gradually diminish over the Grand Banks tonight as the low moves away
and a ridge builds in.

A trough of low pressure over Southern Quebec will cross over
northern waters tonight. Strong to gale force southwesterlies ahead
of this system will veer to strong to gale force northwesterlies in
its wake.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Northeast Gulf, Gulf-Port au Port, Belle Isle Bank, and the Grand
Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Southwest Coast, South Coast, East Coast
- Cape St. Francis and south, and the Grand Banks.
