At 3:30 p.m. ADT today trough located on a line northeast-southwest over New Brunswick. By 3:30 p.m. ADT Thursday trough located over the Quebec Lower North Shore.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:18 PM ADT 24 April 2024 A low pressure system south of Laurentian Fan will move to lie over Newfoundland overnight. Strong to gale force southerlies are expected east of the low as it moves northward this evening.
Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure over New Brunswick will move to lie over Anticosti Island overnight where it will deepen before slowly moving off to the east on Thursday. Strong to gale force westerlies or northwesterlies are forecast over northern waters south of this system.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for Laurentian Fan - eastern half, Cabot Strait - northern half, Gulf - Magdalen, Chaleur - Miscou, and Anticosti.
