Issued 3:00 AM ADT 29 March 2024 Today Tonight and Saturday At 3:00 a.m. ADT today quasi-stationary trough located from the
Gulf of St. Lawrence to Georges Bank.
At 10:00 a.m. ADT today deepening low 992 mb located southwest of
the Marine District.
By 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight low 976 mb located over Southwestern Shore.
At 8:00 p.m. ADT Saturday departing low 983 mb located over
Anticosti Island.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:42 AM ADT 29 March 2024 A stationary trough sits over the region today. An area of low
pressure will approach from the southwest later today. Strong to gale
force southwesterly winds ahead of the low will veer to gale to storm
force west or northwesterlies in its wake, and diminish to strong to
gale force on Saturday.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank and West Scotian Slope. Gale warnings are in effect for
Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank, southwestern shore - western half,
LaHave Bank, eastern shore - eastern half, Sable, East Scotian Slope,
Fourchu, Banquereau - western half, Cabot Strait, Gulf - Magdalen -
western half, Chaleur - Miscou, and Anticosti - western half.
