At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight low 994 mb located near the Avalon Peninsula. By 10:00 a.m. ADT Friday departing low 1004 mb located over the eastern Grand Banks.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:45 PM ADT 18 April 2024 A deepening low pressure system near the Avalon Peninsula will bring strong to gale force northerly winds to eastern waters tonight. Winds will diminish on Friday as the low weakens and begins tracking away from the region.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for Fourchu, Banquereau, Laurentian Fan and Cabot Strait.
Outlook for the start-up of the eastern shore lobster fishery.
