Alert:
...Showers Return to the Region Tuesday Night into Wednesday...
A potent, quick moving, weather system will bring showers to
interior NorCal Tuesday night into Wednesday. Snow levels will
lower to around 3000 to 4000 feet Tuesday night, and then below
2000 feet by later Wednesday. 3 to 6 inches of snow are expected
through the northern Sierra Nevada passes while some of the higher
peaks will see up to 8 inches of snowfall accumulation. Improving
conditions are expected Wednesday night behind the system.
Impacts:
Motorists traveling into the mountains should be prepared for
winter weather conditions and carry chains. Slick roads can be
expected.
Rainfall Totals: Under a quarter inch for the Central Valley with
up to three quarters of an inch over portions of the foothills and
mountains.
Snowfall Totals: 3 to 6 inches above 4500 feet with up to 8 inches
over the higher peaks.
Winds: Locally gusty southwest wind to 50 mph or higher through
the passes.
